Is £250 enough spending money for my holiday?

Most people wouldn’t ask that without giving more context:

Where are you going? What will you be doing?

Camping in Wales? – Maybe enough

Sailing the Med? Unlikely

Yet people often ask, “How much do I need to save to retire?” — as if there’s a single answer.

When you decide to stop working, you live a new lifestyle.

For many, it’s finally time to do the things they didn’t get the chance to do before — travel, spend more time with family, or dive into hobbies old and new.

It’s about what you want your life to look like when work is no longer the focus.

Planning for that properly means being specific — not generic.

Everyone’s retirement is different, but for most people retiring to the armchair is long gone!

👉 Are you planning your retirement around numbers — or around you?

I like to listen to what people are planning and see if I can help them make it happen.
